At Just Ducky Behavioral Health in Glen Burnie, MD, we believe therapy shouldn’t feel like you’re waddling through mud. It should be a collaborative adventure, where we bring the psychology know‑how and outside perspective, and you bring your expertise — because no one knows YOU better than you.
Around here, therapy isn’t a dry, sit‑still-and-stare-at-the-wall kind of experience. We believe healing happens best when you feel safe enough to be yourself — to laugh, to tell stories, to splash around with ideas, and to explore things in a way that feels natural. We take an out‑of‑the‑pond approach, mixing creativity, humor, and genuine connection.
Of course, not every moment is sunshine and smooth swimming. Sometimes the water gets choppy. There may be tears, tough conversations, or moments that feel heavy. That’s okay. We paddle at your pace, never rushing you, never pushing you farther than you’re ready to go.
Our goal is simple:
To create a space where therapy feels meaningful, supportive, and yes — even a little fun — as we help you navigate life’s currents and find your way to calmer waters.
After three years in our current location, we’ve outgrown our space. Around July 1, Just Ducky Behavioral Health will be relocating to our new office at:
7845 Oakwood Road, Suite 202
Glen Burnie, MD 21061
We look forward to welcoming you to our expanded home.
ABOUT US
Just Ducky Behavioral Health began as a telehealth‑only practice serving clients across Maryland. We opened part‑time in July 2022, expanded to full‑time services by October 2022, and by April 2023, we proudly opened the doors to our first physical office in Linthicum, Maryland.
Since then, we’ve continued to grow, adding new programs and expanding our ability to support the community. At our one‑year anniversary, we launched our Case Management program, and we’re actively working toward bringing on additional counselors, expanding services, and increasing our community outreach. Our goal is simple: to keep growing in ways that help our clients thrive.
The story behind “Just Ducky” is one we love to share.
Back when the founder was in graduate school, studying to become a counselor, her father jokingly stated that counselors and psychiatrists were “a bunch of quacks.” Instead of being offended, she leaned into it — and that moment sparked her love of ducks. Over time, her father’s view of mental health care changed, and he came to appreciate the real value of counseling.
Naming the practice Just Ducky became a way to honor his growth, embrace a little silliness, and reclaim a word that’s often used to dismiss mental health work.
Many people still come to therapy with the idea that it’s a “quack” profession or something to be embarrassed about. Part of our mission is to break down those barriers, challenge stigma, and show that mental health care can be meaningful, approachable, and even enjoyable.
At Just Ducky Behavioral Health, we believe healing happens best when people feel safe, welcomed, and free to be themselves — feathers, flaws, and all.
Upcoming Events at Just Ducky
We’re excited to begin planning our 2027 Summer Camp Mental Health Group for children and teens ages 7–17. This week‑long program will focus on building coping skills, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping young people learn practical tools to support their mental health — all in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment.
Right now, we’re gathering community feedback and ideas to help shape the program. If you think your child may be interested, we’d love to hear from you.
Just Ducky Behavioral Health is also looking to partner with local businesses and community organizations for our 2027 summer program. Sponsorships will help reduce the cost for families and increase access for children who may benefit from attending.
If you or your organization would like to get involved, we’d be thrilled to connect.
Call our office or email us at justducky@justduckybehavioralhealth.com to share your ideas, ask questions, or express interest in participating or sponsoring.
Together, we can create a meaningful, memorable, and impactful summer experience for the kids in our community.
We are excited to share that we’re in the process of creating a nonprofit organization called Webbed Angels — a community‑powered effort dedicated to helping individuals who are struggling to afford the care they need.
Webbed Angels will provide financial support and essential resources for people facing barriers such as:
Difficulty paying for therapy or mental health services
Challenges affording medications
Gaps in coverage for medical care
Strain from everyday living expenses that impact wellbeing
Our mission is simple: no one should have to choose between their mental health and their basic needs.
If you’d like to help us lift others up, we welcome donations of any size.
Every contribution helps someone in our community access the care they deserve.
We believe that when a community comes together, healing becomes possible. If you’re interested in donating, partnering, or learning more about Webbed Angels, please reach out.
